Pictures from Brooklyn, Thursday afternoon

A wall can tell a thousand stories.

This one is ever changing.

In the Winter, it is mostly bare, with decaying branches and faded impressions of the season past.

In the Spring, it blooms with new energy, as old and new growth jostle for position.

For Summer, it is thick with ivy, covered in deep green foliage and pulsing with life.

At Fall time, it lights up in flames, in burnished, dazzling tones of yellow, gold, orange, bronze, pink, magenta, and brown.

This wall brings me joy and calm, an oasis from the commotion of life in the city. It also provides a nice resting place for bikes.
